ZFOAM AND LEAN MANUFACTURING (5S): TRAYS FOR MANAGEMENT OF TOOLS

The 5s is a methodology of Japanese origin which aims to maintain a workplace organized, clean and safe. 5S is considered as key in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing ("lean production"). It is a management model focused on giving maximum value to customers, using the minimum resources needed (lean).

Productivity decreases with a dirty or disorganized workplace or in a place where the working tools cannot be found.

5S uses a list of five Japanese words beginning with the letter "S":
  • Seiri: Sorting
  • Seiton: Setting in order
  • Seiso: Shining
  • Seiketsu: Standardizing.
  • Shitsuke: Sustaining.

To obtain the “S” of “Seiton” (Setting in order) it is necessary once you have defined the elements or tools needed for the job, they are ordered and identified so that they are easy to access and use.

In ZFoam we can produce trays for the management of the tools and office supplies (they can be made with contrasting colors lamination that allows rapid identification of tools if lost).
