Zotek® N polyamide foams are manufactured by using a unique foaming process consisting
of the injection of nitrogen
at high pressure. They have a closed cell structure and excellent properties such as high temperature resistance and chemical resistance to hydrocarbons.
A typical application involving the use of foam with high temperature resistance and closed pores is the brackets for metal parts during painting and subsequent drying processes.
A product such as Zotek® N makes it possible to continuously work at temperatures of 180 °C, which were so far unattainable for other closed cell foams. It ensures long life of the foam and the ability to reduce cycle times with progressive increases in the drying temperature.
Other typical highly demanding applications at high temperatures are:
- Dampening and soundproofing parts near engine areas in automobiles and industrial vehicles.
- Protection by lamination for other foams which have a lower temperature resistance.
- High temperature sterilization.
